About Us:

Troop exists to democratize art by removing the stringent submissions expectations that hinder the accessibility of great work. We believe that regardless of a lack of resources, experience, or academic/professional affiliation, good artists and their art should be seen, read, and heard. Each new issue will have a theme word, posted on our homepage, www.thegorillapress.com, as a trigger for writers to initiate their creative processes. Our spring and fall issues will be dedicated to poetry, while our summer and winter issues will showcase fiction.

To Submit:

If you intend to send us your stellar work, please submit no more than three poems (spring and fall) or no more than 20 pages of fiction (summer and winter) and a 100 word author bio to our website, www.thegorillapress.com. Please submit only once per issue. You should receive confirmation of receipt as soon as you submit. We unfortunately do not have time to respond to every submission, but should you be selected for publication, we will send you a notification e-mail as soon as possible.

Publication:

We will publish to our website, www.thegorillapress.com, and hope to have one print version a year in the future.

Prizes and Awards:

The Gorilla Press is about democratization and access. Your award will be the unique version of inspiration you get when voting for something that matters to you, except that feeling will be compounded by the glory of publication, our eternal affection and respect, and if you are able to come to the San Francisco Bay Area, a drink or a slice on us.
